Rogelio "Rocky" Casal, our head guide in Rio Pico for the Trout Bum program, has been seen at the tying bench these last few seasons almost every single night cranking out tarpon flies. And he got very, very good at it. Now there are fly shops in the states selling his patterns with his name on them!
Turns out he was also all the while developing a Bum program for us up in Mexico that he now runs himself every year; and the 2025 trip went well. Now we're looking forward to 2026, and bummed out only about the wait!

This is a 6 day/7 night itinerary on an island 140 kilometers from Cancun, reached via a drive of about an hour and a half then another twenty minutes of ferry ride.
